Please note: Grades for Term 1 close on Thursday the 6th of November. Report Cards will be posted in IPASS on the 13th of November. It is important to make sure all due work has been submitted on time to the classroom teachers.

Athletic Updates
Douglas hosted the DVC Cross Country Championships. The boys team finished 4th with outstanding performances by Conner Grady and Trevor Mungeam. The girls team tied Hopedale 36-36 but won the league title as Kylie Blake, Douglas' 6th place finisher, beat out Hopedale's 6th place runner by one spot to win the tiebreaker. This was the girls second consecutive league championship. Makenzie Cyr was the top runner as she won the race in 18:36, followed by 3rd place finisher Caroline Meizen and in 12th place, Tess Miller.
Both teams now prepare for the District meet on November 8th in Gardner.

The Boy's and Girl's Soccer teams have both qualified for post-season play. The Girls will play at home on Monday at 2:00 against Uxbridge. The Boys team will play Monday at Leicester High School at 7:00 PM. We wish both teams good luck in these tournament games.
The Sutton/Douglas football team plays tomorrow at 12:00 versus Nashoba Valley. The game will be played at Sutton High School.
The informational meeting for those students interested in playing hockey as part of our co-op with Hopedale and Millis High School's meet today. We had a group of 9 students who have signed up for the program and it will be interesting to see them lace up their skates this winter. Mr. LaChapelle and Mr. Riordan (both played competitive hockey) will look to try and provide some support with coaching the team as well.

Girls Field Hockey closes out its season
The girls field hockey team closed out their season on Tuesday with a tough loss to BMR 2-0. We congratulate and thank Grace Burns, Cassidy Chapman, Adrianna Dereszkiewicz, Emily Martin and Suzie Thibault for their season and career at DHS. They have much to be proud of as they have brought distinction to the school, the program, their families and to themselves. We also recognize the members of both the varsity and junior varsity teams for their great efforts. Thanks are extended to both Coach Lavin and Coach Chiasson.

Senior Dress Up Day
The Seniors dressed up on Friday October 31st.
The seniors took some time today to walk down to the Elementary and Primary School's dressed up in costume. They had a wonderful time touring the buildings and sharing a smile and some good advice with the students in these two buildings. Thanks to Mr. Cedarbaum and Mrs. Socha for inviting us to visit.
Senior Girls Archery Class:
This group of young ladies have just completed their senior physical education unit on archery with Mrs. Sokol. They are very impressive and they can perform in costume as well.

The Douglas High School Athletic Boosters have 2
available senior project opportunities:
Basketball
Concession Coordinator: your responsibilities will include managing the
schedule of volunteers for basketball concessions throughout the season. Keeping track of inventory and notifying Mr.
Doyon of what items need to be purchased.
Senior
Athletic Awards night video: your responsibilities will include taking action
shots as well as senior athlete pictures of all spring sports. Gathering the photos others took from fall,
winter sports and adding them to spring photos and making a video to present at
the end of the Senior Athletic Awards night (end of May). Lastly there are also
concession volunteer community service hours available for the basketball
season.
