Update on Sutton/Douglas Football

The Sutton-Douglas football team has gotten off to a slow start this year at 1-3 but is looking towards the remaining season. This year junior Josh Dunn has emerged as the first player from Douglas to start on both sides of the football, starting at RB and CB. He is joined this year by senior Noah Narducci, who has emerged as a starter at linebacker for the defense this season. Other Douglas players contributing to the varsity program include, senior Bryan Pineo (RB/DB & on special teams), and freshman Matthew Brooks (OL). We are excited to see each of these players becoming invaluable components to the varsity program. At the JV and freshmen levels we are receiving contributions from several Douglas High School students including; Junior, Jeremy Yeomans (WR/DB/Punter), Sophomores, Tom Griffin (OL/DL), Troy Yoder (WR/LB), Tanner Mills (RB/LB), and Freshmen, Anothony Valliere (RB/LB), Alex Benedict (RB/DB), Sean Gervais (OL/DL), Ben Musulli (OL/DL), Nick McLean (OL/DL), Justin Pineo (WR/DB), Mario Leonardo (OL/DL), Mason Burns (OL/DL), Brandon Daubney (OL/DL), Trevor Jutras (OL/DL) and Carmelo Lugo (OL/DL).

Wanted to include a few pictures from the Girls' Soccer game played under the lights at BMR.
A nice win for the team as they defeated BMR 2-0 on goals from Rachel Dixson and Olivia Collins.

College Fair
As part of Monique Levesque's senior project, she created a wall dedicated to the faculty on what college they graduated from and if they knew that teaching was going to be their career path upon entering college.
She also worked closely with Mrs. Carpenter on the College Fair including developing a scavenger hunt for the 10th grade students.  Both Monique and Mrs. Carpenter did a great job. The students were able to visit with representatives from over 90 colleges, trade schools and the military.  We extend our thanks for all the wonderful work done by Mrs. Carpenter to bring this many institutions to our school for our students to visit with.

Today a group of 20 students along with Mr. Gionet and Mr. Galatzer-Levy participated in the STEM experience through the Blackstone Valley Educational Collaborative.  The students went to Lenze Corporation in Uxbridge and St. Gollbain in Worcester.  They had the opportunity to explore STEM employment opportunities, they toured the buildings and learned about their manufacturing process.  More information will be added to the blog along with some photo's of the event early next week.
