Wishing you
HAPPY HOLIDAY'S!!!

On behalf of everyone here at DHS;
May you enjoy a safe and joyous Holiday Season spent with family and friends. To me the true meaning of the season is found in a lyric I am reminded of; "It's the giving that makes you what you are". Happy Holidays!!

With tears in her eyes, one of the volunteers from the People's Pantry thanked the Peer Leaders for all of their efforts in helping collect 1,959 food items during their 12 Days of Christmas contest.  The volunteer went on to explain that they would now be able to help feed people who would have had nothing for the holidays!!  So even though this is a contest for a pizza party between classes, the true meaning of Christmas and the reason Peer Leaders does the food drive was a true success once again!!!

This year's contest was won by Emily Mayo's C block class closely followed by Jeff Thayer's class and in third place was Mrs. Brennick's class.  A huge thank you to all the students and families who graciously donated!

As a result of their efforts, Douglas High School was able to present 70 gifts to this charitable organization.  We are so appreciative of support provided by the school community and extend our gratitude to the members of the Student Council and its advisors, Ms. Shaner and Ms. Lauretano.

Our Band/Chorus and Auxiliary teams will be travel to Baltimore for a festival this spring.  Mr. DeNoncour presented this proposal to the School Committee on Wednesday night and the proposal was approved.  The planning and funding is underway and we are excited that our students will have this great opportunity.  We also express our appreciation to the Booster's who continue to provide financial support needed to keep these programs up and running and we are so grateful.
