Madeline Peck was selected for Art All-State Program

Blackstone Valley Youth Leadership Graduation Wednesday May 11th at 5:30
Sophomores Erin Correia and Trevor Mungeam will be participating in the Blackstone Valley Youth Leadership Academy graduation this Wednesday evening.
This graduation ceremony will celebrate the commitment and dedication that Erin, Trevor and other students throughout the Dual Valley have made to developing the skills to be leaders within their schools. We congratulate both Erin and Trevor and look forward to the graduation ceremony.
Below is a description of this program from the Blackstone Valley Education Collaborative.
The Youth Leadership Academy is a unique program of the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation and seeks to develop the leadership skills of young people and strengthen their connection to the Blackstone Valley. The academy offers students in our member schools a challenging curriculum beginning in late Fall and culminating in May with the creation and implementation of a service project. Each session is held in a different community where bits of history are shared, strengthening their connection to the Blackstone Valley.
The graduation ceremony will take place at Alternatives Whitin Mill GB & Lexi Singh Performance Center 60 Douglas Road Whitinsville, MA 01588

DHS Cancer Walk Sunday May 28th
Wonderful community service opportunity for students to participate in.
The DHS Student Council will host the 3rd annual Cancer Walk on Sunday, May 15th @ 9:00 am. All proceeds from this walk will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Participants will leave from the high school athletic field and follow a 10K route through town.

Madeline Peck was selected for Art All-State Program
Congratulations to Madeline Peck, who was selected to participate in the 2016 Art All-State program. This year was especially competitive with well over 200 juniors from across the state applying for only 144 coveted spots. Madeline will be traveling to UMass Dartmouth for the program on June 12-13, where she will collaborate with like minded art students and professional artists from all over Massachusetts. This is an incerdible opportunity and honor for Madeline and the DHS community!

DHS Cancer Walk Sunday May 28th
Wonderful community service opportunity for students to participate in.

Registration is $10 and includes a free t-shirt for the first 50 people who sign-up, so don't wait! Cash and checks are accepted. All checks should be made out to the Town of Douglas. Registration forms can be found in the office or in Ms. Shaner's room.
Registering late? No worries! Saturday morning registration begins at 7:30 am.

Join us for award-winning performances by our Concert Band, Chorus, Blue Light Special, Marching Band, Flags & Rifles, Majorettes, and Percussion Line. See highlights of the performances and routines that brought home trophies in all categories during our recent competition in New Jersey. Refreshments will be served. Raffle Prizes will be on display, and there will be a 50-50 Cash Raffle.

The DHS Band/Chorus and Auxiliary
Teams recently participated in the Festival of Music at Felician University in
Lodi, NJ. During this trip they formally
performed in a number of categories for judging and performed very well. While
on this trip the students were able to visit Six Flags in NJ, the 9/11
Memorial, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We extend our congratulations
to all the students who participated in this festival. They were awarded with
the following ratings for their performances:
