Math Honor
Brian Flanagan has been recognized as a Western Massachusetts All-Star through his participation in the Worcester County Mathematics League.  As a result of this acknowledgement Brian has been selected to participate in the American Region Mathematics League competition that will be held on May 30th at Penn State University. This competition is held in four regional tournaments with over 2,000 U.S. and international students participating.  This is a wonderful honor for Brian.  We wish him good luck in the competition.

Off to Philly
Our Chorus left DHS early this morning with a destination of Philadelphia where they will perform in a regional festival.  We wish them much success in their performances.  While on this trip the students will visit Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell (its cracked you know!) as well as a visit to the Eastern State Penitentiary.  They will also spent some time at Six Flags New Jersey.  Finally they will visit NYC where they will tour Liberty Park and the Statue of Liberty before heading to Grand Central Terminal on their way to the Ambassador Theater for a performance of "Chicago". They return to Douglas Sunday night at approximately 10:00 PM.  It should be a great trip for the students and we thank Mr. DeNoncour, Mr. Elliot, Mr. Rheaume and all the chaperones for their support of our students and the quality of their learning experiences.
