Spring has sprung...
with just a little hint of snow!
The last few snow piles are fading away while the daffodils have bloomed on the sunny side of the building.
A sure sign for our seniors that their time at DHS is drawing to a close is the publishing of our
'End of Year Schedule for Seniors!"

The Grand Opening!!!
On Tuesday the 14th, the DHS Outdoor Track teams opened the new Track and Field facility. They are ecstatic about the facility, the track surface and the field space. We again thank the Douglas School Building Committee, former Superintendent Lane, and all town organizations that played a part in bringing this vision to fruition. We thank the taxpayers of Douglas for the support of this project.

National Honor Society
The National Honor Society Leadership Conference occurred on April 9 at the College of the Holy Cross. Eight members of the DHS National Honor Society attended. They were Olivia Ursch, Morgan Goozey, Kristina King, Virginia Maguire, Isabel Mazzarella, Kaylee Klenk, Micalea Goldenberg, and Shannon Harney The group was able to experience a powerful presentation by speaker Scott Maloney themed "I got lucky". He related his personal experience with the consequences of bad decisions. They later participated in many peer workshops, including "Sole Hope", which involved cutting fabric to make shoes that would be donated to poor citizens in Uganda. The ceremony concluded with an awards presentation and a complimentary lunch. It was a great experience for the NHS members!

My name is Olivia Ursch, I am a senior at Douglas High School. For my senior project, I am putting together the senior slideshow that will be presented at Class Night in June during Graduation week. The slideshow will include baby, middle school, high school, dances, and sport pictures. If you have any pictures that you would like to be included in the presentation, you can email them to me at urscholivia@yahoo.com or if they are printed out, you can send them in with your student and have them give them to me, I will scan them and give them back. The pictures do not have to be school related, but please make sure they are appropriate.

Hat Day
Seniors Liam Madden and Bryan Pineo held a senior project where students and staff were able to wear a hat during the school day for a $1.00 contribution that supported a local charity. Although they did not present in winner in a team category, I'm sure you would agree that this team certainly would have won the competition. Thank you everyone who participated and supported the fundraiser.
